
FORT WORTH, Texas – The results are in for USA Today’s 10 Best Zoos, and the Fort Worth Zoo is proud to announce that it has been named the No. 4 zoo in the nation. In addition, the Zoo’s African Savanna placed 6th in the Best Zoo Exhibit category.
These are the latest honors for the internationally recognized zoo, which has been ranked the Best Zoo in Texas by Yahoo Travel and the No. 1 attraction in the DFW Metroplex by Zagat survey. This is the third year of the USA Today polling and the third year the Zoo has finished in the top 5.
USA Today assembled a panel of industry experts who created the lists of zoos and exhibits it deemed the top 20 in North America. The newspaper then opened the voting, asking the public to choose the top 10. Voters could vote once a day, every day for four weeks until the contest closed on Monday, April 22. The final rankings were revealed this morning, Friday, May 3.
